Teatr Druziv (Theater van Vrienden), an Amsterdam-based Ukrainian theatre company, presents the comedy “Chasing Three Hares” at ZIMIHC theater Stefanus in Utrecht.
A charming young gentleman seems to have found the perfect balance: three fiancées, three carefully managed relationships and one simple rule — none of them may ever learn about the others. It works surprisingly well, until it doesn’t. As small coincidences pile up, the flawless plans start to fall apart and an ordinary day turns into a whirlwind of misunderstandings, unexpected encounters and increasingly impossible situations. The only question is not whether everything goes wrong, but how spectacularly.
This lively modern Ukrainian comedy is full of fast dialogue, playful characters and sharp humour — a story about love, pretence, timing and the boundless human belief that even the riskiest plan will surely work out. The performance runs about 2.5 hours including an interval and is recommended for ages 16 and up. It is performed entirely in Ukrainian.
Before the show and during the interval, guests can visit a Ukrainian market with handmade crafts, jewellery, décor, unique gifts and Ukrainian treats and home baking from Ukrainian makers.
