Closing the Sky — documentary and Come Back Alive Q&A
A documentary on Ukraine’s development of drone air defence, followed by a discussion with Come Back Alive representatives. Ukrainian audio, English subtitles and English Q&A. Free with registration.
About this event
Closing the Sky, a documentary from Come Back Alive, follows Ukraine’s journey from appeals to the world to close its skies towards developing its own approach to air defence. The Rotterdam screening brings this story to Dokhuis and invites audiences to discuss the film’s themes with representatives of the organization afterwards.
The organizer describes a response born from urgent wartime need that is attracting interest beyond Ukraine. The event pairs the film with direct conversation: the audience can ask the visiting representatives about the work and experiences behind the documentary. The film is in Ukrainian with English subtitles, and the Q&A is in English.
Come Back Alive is an independent organization working since 2014 to support Ukraine’s defence forces and deliver education and training projects for military personnel. The film project is supported by pharmaceutical company Darnytsia and Zagoriy Foundation. This is a public film and discussion event; the announcement does not name the individual Q&A speakers.
Sunday 8 November 2026, 15:00–18:00, Europe/Amsterdam, at Dokhuis Rotterdam, Doklaan 10. The three-hour slot covers the event; a separate film runtime and doors time have not been announced. Admission is free, advance booking is required and donations are welcome. Use the venue’s ticket shop and select the 8 November screening.
