FREEDOM Ballet brings The Wardrobe (ШАФА) to the Netherlands: a contemporary dance-theatre production directed by Olena Kolyadenko. An ordinary wardrobe becomes the starting point for a journey into private lives, with the audience invited to imagine looking through its keyhole.
The production explores the things people hide or carry with them: memories, fears, desires and unrealised dreams. Choreography, music and lighting shape a succession of personal stories about love and passion. Rather than offering a conventional plot summary, the company presents the wardrobe as a way for spectators to recognise something of themselves in other people’s experiences.
