The Ukrainian Christmas comedy “Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka” tours European stages and comes to Amsterdam. Vakula falls in love, Oksana is capricious, Solokha drives the men wild and the Devil muddles everyone’s plans — a mix of music, bright costumes, Ukrainian humour, mysticism, love and the real atmosphere of Christmas.
The cast features well-known Ukrainian artists: People’s Artist of Ukraine Oksana Pekun as Solokha; People’s Artist of Ukraine Andriy Romanenko as Vakula; Volodymyr Yamnenko as the Deacon; Honoured Artist of Ukraine Valeriy Astakhov as the Village Head; Honoured Artist of Ukraine Vitaliy Chelkanov as Chub; Daria Vinichenko as Oksana; and Mykyta Marchenko as the Devil.
Over two hours of laughter, music, adventure and a real Ukrainian Christmas — a familiar story with beloved characters and star actors, as Dikanka comes to life before your eyes.
Staged by director Anatoliy Hnatyuk; producers Oleg Shpanchuk and Serhiy Chudaiev. Created in collaboration between the First Enterprise Theatre, the “Colosseum” producer centre and Comedy Space Production.
