_mediaklub presents Rehearsal of the Victory Day Gig in the Schip space at Rijksakademie as part of Amsterdam Dance Event’s Arts & Culture programme. The work combines sound, projected imagery and remote collaboration, bringing the Ukrainian new-media community into the academy’s first year of participation in this ADE programme.
The performance grew out of online sessions that kept the group connected during lockdown and Russia’s war against Ukraine. After Max Robotov joined the Ukrainian Army, collaborators worked from different countries and time zones. Instead of removing the delays and disrupted connections, the work makes those interruptions part of its musical structure. Robotov’s voice and commands from the front line form a central element.
The announced participants are Daria Maiier, Georgiy Potopalskiy, Max Robotov, Ivan Svitlychnyi, Dmytro Tentiuk, Anna Ivchenko and Pavlo Hunko. Tentiuk is a former Rijksakademie tech fellow. The collective welcomes collaboration from the Ukrainian Photinus new-media community, connecting artists, musicians and programmers through an open audiovisual practice.
Friday 23 October 2026, 17:00–18:00, Rijksakademie — Schip, Sarphatistraat 470, 1018 GW Amsterdam. Admission is free; use the venue’s RSVP form. The announced participant list does not imply that everyone will be physically present. Doors time, spoken-language or subtitle arrangements and any age guidance have not been specified.
The building is wheelchair-accessible, Schip can be reached by lift, and an accessible toilet is on the second floor. Visitors who need assistance can contact support@rijksakademie.nl.
