On Sunday 27 September, Stichting Slava i Volya brings Run for Ukraine to Zwolle. The gathering is part of the Dutch memorial-run initiative honouring people lost in Russia’s war against Ukraine. Participants can dedicate their run to a loved one or a Ukrainian city. Families and supporters are welcome alongside runners.
The Zwolle programme combines a children’s 2 km run and an adults’ 5 km run with a concert and a trench-candle workshop, organized with the Ukrainian Club Zaandam. The local announcement lists space for up to 50 runners and invites wounded Ukrainian service members, Zwolle veterans and the Isala medical staff involved in their treatment.
Registration at Nooterhof opens at 11:00. Opening remarks and the Ukrainian anthem follow at 11:30; the runs begin at 12:00, with children first. The official registration page lists the overall event as 11:00–15:00.
Participation is free. Optional support tickets are €10, €20, €50 or €100, each with a €1 fee. The options support the run, participation for someone with fewer financial means, Ukrainian cultural projects in the Netherlands or a young Ukrainian artist respectively. Select the free ticket if you simply wish to participate.
