DakhaBrakha brings the Ptakh tour to PAARD’s Grolsch Zaal. Founded at Kyiv’s experimental Dakh theatre, the Ukrainian quartet combines traditional folk singing with rhythms and instruments drawn from different musical cultures.
The concert introduces Ptakh, whose title means “bird” in Ukrainian. The venue describes the album as a response to Ukrainian resistance, resilience and the support the country receives internationally. The bird becomes a recurring image of freedom and the ability to make Ukraine’s voice heard. Expect a performance shaped by the group’s theatrical origins and its distinctive approach to folk material, rather than a conventional pop concert.
