Benefit concert for Friese Rijders — Haulerwijk

A Sunday afternoon of choral, orchestral and solo music in Haulerwijk supports Friese Rijders’ humanitarian work for Ukraine. The initiative comes from the Christian mixed choir from Wijnjewoude, bringing local performers and Ukrainian singers together around a practical fundraising purpose.

The choir performs under Annejaap Soldaat, who also appears as a tenor soloist. Ukrainian soprano Nataliia Gryshchenko and her sister Viktoriia from Donkerbroek join the programme, alongside Het Filofonisch Orkest from Groningen, conducted by Libbe Oosterman. All participating musicians are contributing their time without payment. Individual works and the running order have not been announced.

The concert also draws attention to the Dutch and Ukrainian volunteers who pack relief supplies in Haulerwijk and the drivers transporting them to Ukraine. Donations support food purchases, generators and fuel for the organisation’s trucks. Visitors can give using a QR code or contribute cash to the collection.
