Licht over Grenzen — Concordia & ORPHEUS

Royal Toonkunstkoor Concordia Leeuwarden joins Ukrainian ensemble ORPHEUS for Licht over Grenzen, a Christmas concert bringing together different choral traditions. A children’s choir also takes part, adding young voices to Howard Blake’s Walking in the Air.

Concordia’s announcement names music by Bach, Mendelssohn, Holst, Rutter and Blake, interspersed with ORPHEUS’s Ukrainian carols, sacred music and folk songs. The ensembles will join forces for Carol of the Bells, rooted in the Ukrainian Shchedryk tradition, and Silent Night. The programme is built around shared music across languages and generations.

The organizer confirms a 20:00 start at Pelikaankerk. Ticket prices and a booking method have not yet been published on the concert page; consult the original announcement for updates.
