Power of Words — guided tour with the artist and curator

Artist Serhii Rovynskyi and curator Mariana Dzhulai lead a Ukrainian-language tour of Power of Words: Odesa City Letters at OBA Oosterdok. This 90-minute visit offers an opportunity to explore the exhibition in the company of its creator and curator, connecting the visual works with their literary and cultural context.

The exhibition brings together 56 works, including posters and large textile pieces. Rovynskyi transforms lines by Ukrainian writers and poets into typography, colour and composition, treating language as a visual medium. The works connect themes of dignity, freedom, love, loss and memory across generations of Ukrainian literature.

The Amsterdam presentation includes 13 new works made in 2026 and shown publicly for the first time, plus two pieces created especially around the relationship between Amsterdam and Odesa. Both port cities provide a setting for a dialogue about cultural exchange and the continuing life of Ukrainian art.

The tour takes place on Saturday 31 October 2026, 16:00–17:30, at OBA Expo in OBA Oosterdok, Oosterdokskade 143, Amsterdam. The tour language is Ukrainian and admission is free. The organiser has not supplied a separate tour reservation link.

Kastanje organises the exhibition with OBA Amsterdam, with support from the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts. The wider exhibition remains open until 10 January 2027; this listing covers only the guided tour.
