Leon Rusanovsky and his children Julia and Arthur perform together as the Ukrainian-Dutch Trio Rusanovsky. Their concert at De Maagd combines music for two violins and viola with Ukrainian songs, their own compositions and improvisation. Piano and guitar also form part of the ensemble’s musical palette.
The family has performed at venues including Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Hamburg’s Grundbuchhalle and the American Culture Centre in New York. This afternoon offers an opportunity to hear their interplay at close quarters, with familiar classical works alongside less familiar musical discoveries. The venue has not announced a complete list of pieces.
The performance is part of Week van de Kleine Zaal, when De Maagd transforms its main auditorium into an intimate setting with 140 places. The event is listed as De Maagd — Kleine Zaal.
