Good [old] Times — Ukrainian ballet workshop, ages 55+ (6 December)
Explore classical ballet with Ukrainian International Ballet in a welcoming 90-minute workshop for people aged 55 and over. No previous dance experience required.
About this event
Holland Dance Festival brings professional dancers from Ukrainian International Ballet together with participants aged 55 and over for a special Good [old] Times workshop. This is an opportunity to try classical ballet in a relaxed setting, whether you have danced before or are stepping into a dance workshop for the first time.
The 90-minute session introduces the fundamentals of ballet through posture, balance, coordination and musicality. The emphasis is on enjoying movement, exploring expression and working at your own pace. Experienced dancers and complete beginners are both welcome; no previous ballet training is required.
Ukrainian International Ballet grew out of the United Ukrainian Ballet Foundation, which brought together dancers who had been forced to leave Ukraine. Based around a shared artistic life in The Hague, the company continues to develop Ukrainian ballet internationally, connecting classical technique with contemporary influences. The workshop offers a chance to learn directly from its professional dancers and meet other dance enthusiasts.
This session takes place on Sunday 6 December, 11:00–12:30, at Theater De Regentes in The Hague. Participation costs €16 and places are limited, so book in advance through Holland Dance Festival. The separate 13 December session takes place at a different address, Zandvoortselaan 11; choose the correct date when booking.
